The antimutagenicity of 2-substituted selenazolidine-4-(R)-carboxylic acids.
Selenium can have cancer chemopreventive activity, although the mechanism of action has not been well defined. Selenazolidine-4-(R)-carboxylic acids (SCAs) were devised as prodrugs of L-selenocysteine, to provide selenium in a form and at a concentration commensurate with cancer chemopreventive activity. In the present study, a series of selenazolidines has been evaluated in the Salmonella typh...
متن کاملUltrasound-Promoted Synthesis of Aryl Amides from Isocyanides and Carboxylic Acids under Ambient Conditions
The synthesis of aryl amides via the reactions of carboxylic acids and isocyanides in methanol was carried out in 78-95% yields under ultrasound irradiation. The method has wide applicability, and the protocol is mild, fast and efficient compared to the existing methods based on silent conditions.
متن کاملRuthenium-Catalyzed C–H Arylation of Diverse Aryl Carboxylic Acids with Aryl and Heteroaryl Halides
Ruthenium ligated to tricyclohexylphosphine or di-tert-butylbipyridine catalyzes the arylation of carboxylic acids with diverse aryl halides (iodide, bromide, and triflate; aryl and heteroaryl). In addition, arylations with 2-iodophenol formed benzochromenones, carboxylate was shown to be a stronger donor than an amide, and the arylation of a pyridine carboxylate was demonstrated. Stoichiometri...

متن کاملMild, visible light-mediated decarboxylation of aryl carboxylic acids to access aryl radicals.
Herein we present the first example of aryl radical formation via the visible light-mediated decarboxylation of aryl carboxylic acids using photoredox catalysis. This method constitutes a mild protocol for the decarboxylation of cheap and abundant aryl carboxylic acids and tolerates both electron-rich substrates and those lacking ortho-substitution. The in situ formation of an acyl hypobromite ...
